Economic Recovery Hopeful in the New Year
A new report from Realtor.com says that housing starts are expected to hit a three year high in 2011. It made me think of an chart I seen a few weeks back from the Census Bureau that featured a graph of the previous decade’s building activity. My personal business has remained relatively consistent in recent years, so I was shocked to see the low levels of new development nationally during the recent recession:
The expectation is that home starts could reach up to 739,000 in 2011. This should bring unemployment rates down to about 9.1% nationally. Hopefully economic recovery is here to say.
