Changing Nashville Demographics
Chapters

There is no doubt that urban renewal and gentrification are changing the face of Nashville demographics. As Realtors who abide by a strict Code of Ethics, we are not allowed to comment many things. Fair Housing Laws prevent us from steering people away from or toward a certain neighborhood based on race, color, or other protected categories.

Still, we field questions often from consumers curious about neighborhoods. Here I’ve compiled a list of several online resources that you may find helpful in your online research.

Mapping America – A joint project between the US Census and the NY Times detailing info on race, income, and education.

Crime Mapping – Nashville Metro Police report and map data here.

Walk Score – What’s nearby?

The Cable Racial Dot Project – An artist’s rendering of 2010 Census data. He’s plotted a colored dot representative of every person in America. It’s beautiful.
