The Streets of Indian Lake is the community hub. It works well and locals genuinely like it. But buyers moving from neighborhoods with walkable historic downtowns should know Hendersonville offers a different model — suburban convenience around a commercial corridor, not a pedestrian-first town center.

Sumner County has a strong 14:1 student-teacher ratio and solid graduation rates. For most families, both are genuine options; the decision usually comes down to price point and which direction makes sense for the commute.
Both are in Sumner County along Old Hickory Lake. Hendersonville is the larger city (~63,000), closer to Nashville, and more established. Gallatin is the county seat, slightly smaller, a bit more affordable, and has its own historic downtown square. Gallatin has seen significant new construction growth and is worth comparing if budget is a primary driver.
